Maths tutoring - Past work

In order to bring the subject some solid context, I think it would certainly work to begin a topic by initial discussing its benefit. Then I would certainly run through some easy instances. I need to stress that there are no foolish questions, anything to help a student's comprehension is essential. After I've run through a couple of examples, I would like to have the student run through their own instance, talking to me pretending they were the tutor and I was the student.

Numerous studies have shown that trying to explain an idea you have actually just learned assists greatly in memorisation as well as comprehension. If I'm satisfied with their training, I 'd like to examine their critical thinking by setting a problem based upon everything found out in the lesson, but with subtle changes that require the tutee to actively engage with the work, rather than be on "auto-pilot".

Homework will be set on the topic talked about (absolutely nothing too extreme), and also better lessons will certainly be carried on answering exam-styled enquiries before proceeding to the following theme.

Throughout sessions I 'd like to motivate a relatively informal, friendly atmosphere. I have a good time mentor, and I really hope students have fun in my training sessions, and a relaxed mind is far better at studying.
